The new Volkswagen Beetle gets a facelift. It's not a big one, but it's a nice one.
As far as I can tell, this is the only revision, so far, to the so-called new Beetle since the launch back in 1998. Other than a small increase in engine size, the only major change is in the rear lights, which are now incorporated into the lights of the tailgate.
The interior is the same as before.
The Beetle is already one of the best-selling cars in the U.S., and it's growing. In 2015 it'll reach a milestone of one million units in the U.S. It's still selling well in Canada, too, and overseas is continuing to grow at a good clip.
The new Beetle gets a number of small refinements to the exterior, including a new front bumper and a new set of wheels. As with its predecessors, the interior is basically the same, although there are new seat fabrics and new wheel caps. There are also new upholstery colors, two new exterior paint colors, and new seat belts.
Overall, it's not a substantial facelift. You can probably still recognize the car from behind, and that's a good thing, because I believe the Beetle is still better looking than any of its competitors.
